Description: "Soleá por Bulerías". Bulerías to laugh at, Soleá to be in solitude is the product of the ability to laugh at life no matter the circumstance. The soleá cante (song) often talks about tragedy, death, and desperation. In this Flamenco Palo (piece) dancers will focus on flamenco technique; braceo (arm positioning ), lines, palmas (clapping), rhythm, posture, footwork and choreography.

Description: Dancers will focus on castanet technique, braceo (arm positioning), and traditional estilizada pasos (movements) across the floor. The class will learn an estilizada choreography for the end of season recital. Previous experience with castanets is strongly encouraged. Castanets are required for class.

Description: The Guajira is a flamenco style that emerged from the fusion of Spanish, Cuban and Central American cultures. This mix resulted in a cadent melody, a slow rhythm including a joyful and sensual seductive character. This Flamenco cante (song) is adapted from the rural areas of the island of Cuba, the Melos Flamenco and the peasant point, now referred to “Cantes y Vuelta".
Dancers will learn technique, choreography, the meaning of the letra (lyrics), the compas (time), palmas (clapping), as well as the puzzle pieces that make up the structure of a typical guajira dance, to recorded music. An abanico (fan) - will be required for this class.

Description: Sevillanas is the cornerstone of your flamenco dance journey. This class is a perfect opportunity to learn the official dance of Spain. Dancers will learn the four coplas (sections) of this traditional regional folk dance or refresh, and fine-tune what you already know! At the end of the class, dancers will understand braceo (arm plaement), palmas (clapping), rhythm and posture and be ready to dance in the ferias and fiestas on your next visit to Spain!
